A Danish shipping line has prepared a new ship that will transport cargo from Europe to East Russia via a northern route just below the north pole. This shortens the regular route with 3800 nautical miles (7000 km). Polar bears might see their chance to use it:

Let’s hope that for the sake of the North pole that this will not be custom as this will decrease the volume of ice even more (states Greenpeace).
